what about the raffle? how will that work?

Well, I'm glad you asked!

We have AH-MAZING items in the raffle, but several are unique to each person's interests. (A complete list, with pictures, will be posted this afternoon!) For example, the choice of a night of babysitting OR three tutoring sessions from a second grade teacher would appeal to me, but the group of students coming from Millbrook aren't going to be interested in that. Likewise, a basket of fun craft goodies from Stampin' Up or beauty products from Mary Kay or Beauticontrol isn't going to be all that well-received by most guys.

So, after consulting with one of the foremost fundraising experts in the Tampa Bay area who hosts at least a half-dozen major fundraising events with silent auction and raffle each year (and who also happens to be my mother), we're doing
a brown bag raffle!

Say what?

Here's how it will work:
  • a description of each item will be stapled to a brown bag
  • you buy tickets (one for $1 or 15 for $10)
  • you write your name & contact info on the numbered list that my beautiful raffle coordinator Julie will have, and then you write your number on the back of each ticket
  • you get to put your tickets in whatever bag or bags you'd like, spreading them across several prizes or banking all your chances on one thing you'd really like
At the end of the night, one of my beautiful pint-sized assistants (aka Jocelyn, Robbie, or one of their friends) will draw one ticket from each bag, and winners will be contacted to claim their prizes!

If you're not completely clear on how it all works, don't worry! Julie will be at the table all night to help you out.

(And did I mention that new pictures of Zoe Amanda were received today? And that they will be in frames at the raffle and silent auction tables? Oh, yes! So even if you're not buying tickets or entering the raffle, you'll want to stop by each table to see our sweet chubby-cheeked Taiwanese baby girl!)
